The food at this restaurant is always fresh, flavorful and service is top notch. As a person with underlying health conditions I avoid physically eating at restaurants and consider only quick and safe food pickup. El Tomatito is one of the few full restaurant (Not fast food) that has a drive thru window allowing for a quick food pickup from the comfort of your own car. Highly Recommended
My family LOVED this food!! It was delicious. I had the birria combo OMG!! yum. California burrito- yes! Chef chilaquiles- yes & the Carne Asada burrito- yes!! Grab an Iced Cafe de Olla- yes!!
We tried the Hangover Chilaquiles and the Birria Rolled Taquitos with Consome. Sooooo gooood!!! Will definitely come back here soon!
I’m from Texas I was skeptical about trying different foods but this place was amazing. Never had chilaquiles like this. Great food
Update - still great food. Very good food. I had the meat lover omelette and Cafe de la olla. See attached pictures. Only bad thing is the lack of parking. If you're really needing to park just park across the street.

I love this place! It’s absolutely delicious and the customer service is great. I highly recommend it here. We come here for breakfast and we love all we get every time. They are super efficient and I love it.
This is the most underrated place in South San Diego!!(Which may be a good thing for us, don't want it too crowded)The friendly service, the authentic Mexican flavors, the perfect portions!!! This place has it! The only thing missing is the space! Apparently all the locals know to come here so there is a crowd. The constant movement though allowed us to find a table right away. Ordering at the counter and self-seating makes it a bit easier. The flavor of the birria is mind blowing!! It can be compared to some of the best birrerias around! The birria omelette comes seasoned perfectly with cilantro cooked in the egg, it's served over delicious Mexican rice and filled with the perfect portions of birria, cheese and beans. The meat omelette is filled with enough meats and seasonings that give it a great flavor!! What tops off the experience is the cafe de la olla. Perfectly blended! Not too sweet, not too bitter just right. Servers are constantly on standby to clear tables and bring whatever you need! I got the name of the server Miriam who was very kind and extremely helpful! This is definitely a place to check out!!
